Watercolour and Fine-liner Pen on 300gsm watercolour paper, 2020 - Current

I knew pet portraits were an option early on but I kept pushing it to the back of my mind through fear of failure and not being ready. This was a common theme in the early years of my artist career and it still shows up today, though I’m becoming more aware of when these thoughts appear and can challenge them when they do.
In August 2020 I put a request out on my Instagram stories for suggestions of things to paint and got a reply from someone asking me to paint their two dogs. It was the love they expressed for their doggo’s and the excitement to see the finished portrait that pushed me to give it a go - these two portraits are the first pictured in the gallery below.
