Who is Catkins Art

Thank you for visiting my page and supporting independent Australian artists.

My name is Cameron Atkins and my studio is Catkins Art. I am an Australian artist living and working alongside the river in south-west Brisbane (Meanjin), with my wife and our cat.

My work is largely inspired by the passions and interests of the people I love as well as the people I meet out at markets and exhibitions. From butterflies to bonsai, farm sheds to Formula 1, and everything in between; I enjoy learning and diving whole-heartedly into just about anything.
My interest and diversity in mediums is much the same. Though I consider myself primarily a pen, ink, and watercolour artist, I have found the confidence these past few years to branch out into acrylics, lino-printing, and most recently wood-burning. I’d love to learn how to work with clay.

I hope you find enjoyment browsing through the Gallery section, there’s plenty to check out there. You’ll find that the Store section is mostly commission-based watercolours with a few original acrylics and limited prints available from time-to-time. You can follow my Socials using the links below, though I’m still working out how to keep up with those in a healthy and intentional way.
And thank you again for viewing! Don’t underestimate the impact that your encouragement and enthusiasm can have on an independent artist.

Wishing you all the best.
